The system works in a unique process. First, it runs under a server on a personal computer. This server plays to be the brain of the whole system. Along with the server, a series of CCTV’s are connected to it via internet connection. Each camera has a unique IP address so that it can provide an output to the server.
Here is where the innovation exists; each CCTV’s is programmed with a software called image processing. We all know that a CCTV detects a particular area but together with image processing, it becomes more useful. The software aims to detect the presence of fire by scanning the area. The system would know if it’s a fire with the use of different algorithms. The system must know if the object it’s detecting has a motion, color-like of a flame and existence of smoke. Once it confirms that it’s a fire, it will now provide output towards an application.
This system wouldn’t be complete without a final output. It comes with an application that can be installed in mobile phones and other wireless devices. Since the system is connected through the Internet, once it detects smoke, it will send screenshots to the phones that are installed with the application. Not only that, the app comes with an alert notification with a sound to quickly notify the specific person.
Importance of the Fire Detection System
The main goal of this system is to maintain the safety of people in a particular area. Since the CCTVs are connected to a server, each would be accessible through the Internet. Moreover, since users will have a chance to download the application included in this system, they would know that fire exists in the area. It can surely ensure the safety of people anywhere on the establishment, as long as the CCTV sees the space.
