If you’re halfway on implementing technology solutions for your business and you seem not getting well-deserved results, then it’s time to evaluate what you might have missed. It’s understandable to be frustrated but just as how much motivated you are when you started, it’s the same passion you must have to continue the endeavours.
You might have implemented a new update, purchased a new hardware, or utilised a new project management platform, but why aren’t the results are not worth all of it? Here are the possible reasons your technology solutions and strategies fail:
Poor project management
Without sound project management, a project will not be successful. Your project manager must handle well the crucial aspects of the project; dealing with the possible risks and other opportunities a technology solution can bring to your business. He/she must be able to explain to each team member why it’s important to have an updated server, use cloud-based platforms, and go mobile in transactions, for instance.
Your goals are unclear.
Make sure your team members understand the goals and reasons why you are implementing technology strategies. Especially, if there are newly-hired.
Your initiatives are too complex and conflicting.
Since there are new and developing technology solutions today, it is sometimes difficult and confusing to choose the best for your company. However, you must be focused on creating your initiatives and successfully integrate it into your planning. Conflicts can be normally present but you can minimise them by proper planning and strict implementation.
Effective Communication
Remember this: your team needs to be clear for everything about the goals of your project. You must have an open communication on how everything’s going, what are the risks encountered, and the possible threats evaluated. If there are problems seen in the new technological update in your company, and it’s not given attention, everything will be a failure. Bigger problems will occur and that may cost you the bigger amount of expenses to fix the issue.
You do not have a clear ROI or cost specified.
Have you considered checking the costs set for your technology initiatives? ROI must be represented in concise and quantifiable metrics. As much as possible, this should be also properly communicated within the organisation
You are too stagnant to innovate.
Are you implementing technology solutions just because one of the famous companies in the field is using it? Be keen and careful! Choose and start a technology initiative that is fit for your business.
If you’re one of those business owners who failed on successfully implementing technology solutions to keep with innovation, it’s not yet too late 🙂
